Matching Gift Challenge: Double your gift, Double your impact

Every day, Straydog cares for the abandoned, neglected, and needy dogs of our community. Our compassion extends as far as our resources allow – and often we go beyond that.

Skai is an example of Straydog gladly stretching its resources to the limits. Thanks to a kind-hearted bank employee who reported a dog left behind by a family who moved, Skai was rescued by Straydog. While she was under anesthesia for spay surgery, it was discovered she was pregnant.No one could tell because she was so thin. Straydog jumped into action providing prenatal care and preparing for the arrival of her litter. It wasn’t long until Skai had a litter of six healthy puppies. To accommodate the new mom, Straydog converted its old shelter office into a “new mommy suite.” Mom and puppies had plenty of space to rest, bond, and stretch their legs.

We pride ourselves on the thoughtful care of our dogs. All our four-legged friends receive comprehensive medical care, socialization support, heartworm preventative treatment, flea & tick preventative care, and well-balanced meals. And in Skai’s case, a care team dedicated to her and her new family. We allocate nearly all your donations directly to our dogs because care is our top priority.

These donors understand the thoughtfulness and care we share with our rescues and want to see that carried forward with other dogs in need.
